Variants of Screw and Barrel Refurbishment

Depending on the technology (injection/extrusion) and the processed materials, we use the following types of screw and barrel repair.

Screw Refurbishment

Depending on the degree of wear and the type of processed material, we use the following screw hardfacing types:

Nitrided screws – suitable for processing non-abrasive materials

Armored screws EXTRA – suitable for processing abrasive materials

Armored screws EXTREM – suitable for processing highly abrasive materials

Barrel Refurbishment

We refurbish extrusion and injection barrels by honing. After measuring barrel wear, we determine the reduction of the internal diameter—usually up to 2 mm. For nitrided barrels, the part is sent for re-nitriding; for bimetallic barrels, only honing is performed before the part is returned to the customer.
